Guidelines for Full Papers

Structure of  the Paper:

The articles must be in English. We recommend to organize the papers in the following order:

- Title (should be clear, descriptive and not too long)
- Name(s) of author(s)
- Affiliation(s)
- Present address(es) of author(s)
- Abstract, comprising 80-100 words
- Keywords (between 3 and 6), highlighting the main topics of the paper
- Introduction
- Material studied, area descriptions, methods, techniques
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References

Format

  1. Paper:  A4 size (21x29,7 cm) portrait;  2,5 cm margins on all sides
  2. Font type: 12 pt Times New Roman (grouped style), Paragraph justified
  3. Spacing: Line spacing: Single; Spacing before: 0 pt; Spacing after: 6 pt
  4.  No line or page numbers. No headers or footers
  5. Your maximum number of words is 3000, incl. figures, tables, references etc.
  6. Headings:
    - Use a maximum of two levels of headings, numbered consecutively 1, 2, 2.1, 2.2, etc.
    - Do not number abstract, acknowledgements and references
    - Space before level-1-headings is 12pt, and 6pt after.
    - Space before & after level-2-headings is 6pt
    - Level-1-headings should be in bold small capitals, level-2-headings in bold.

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract: The abstract should be clear on itself and comprise 80-100 words.
Keywords: Should highlight the main topics of the paper , 3-6 words

Tables  & Figures

  1. Insert tables at the appropriate place in the text without embedding them into frames.
  2. Do not use links to external documents.
  3. Use only horizontal lines in tables, with a minimum width of 1 pt.
  4. Each table and figure must be followed by a source statement, and must explicitly be referred to in the text.
  5. Use automatic references to tables and figures.
  6. Tables should be numbered in Arabic numbers according to their sequence in the text.
  7. Avoid large tables.
  8. Tables should be clear without reading the text.
  9. Any necessary explanations essential for understanding the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom of the table.

Formulae

  1. Formulae should be typewritten.
  2. Subscripts and superscripts should be clear.
  3. Give the meaning of all symbols immediately after the equation in which they are first used.
  4. Equations should be numbered in Arabic numbers serially at the right-hand side in parentheses.

References

  1. All publications cited in the text must be presented in an alphabetical list of references following the text of the full-paper.
  2. In the text, refer to the author's name (without initals) and year of publication: e.g., (Meyer, 1998)
  3. The full-paper should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of author's names and dates are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list.
  4. Author’s names should appear in Small Capitals. Use the abbreviation “et al.” (only) in the text if there are more than two authors. However, in the list of references all the authors should be mentioned.
  5. References cited together in the text should be arranged chronologically. The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by authors’ names, and chronologically per author.
  6. Use the following system for arranging your references:
  7. For periodicals:  Arnade, C.A. (1994): Testing two trade models in Latin American agriculture. Agric. Econ. 10, pp. 49-159.
    For edited symposia: Elmet, H., Kivistik, J. (1999): The importance of land reform for the development of Estonian agriculture, Nordic Association of Agricultural Scientists XXI Congress 1999, Nordisk Jordbrugsforskning, Nr. 2 (81), pp. 317-319.
    For books: Polopolus, L.C., Alvarez, J. (1991): Marketing sugar and other sweeteners. Developments in Agricultural Economics, 9. Elsevier, Amsterdam, 361 pp.
    For multi-author books:  Kivistik, J. (1997a): Agrarsektorreformen in Estland, in: Tillack, P., Schulze, E. (Hrsg.) Privatisierungsprozess, Rechtsformen und Betriebsstrukturen im Agrarbereich der mittel- und osteuropäischer Länder, Halle (Saale), p. 167.
  8. Journal titles should be abbreviated.
  9. Work accepted for publication, but not yet published should be referred to as “in press”.
  10. References concerning unpublished data and “personal communications” should not be cited in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text.

Footnotes

  1. Footnotes should be avoided.
  2. If absolutely necessary, they should be numbered in the text, indicated by superscript numbers.
