Cost and Financial Support
The European Community provides limited financial support to eligible participants which covers parts of their travel, accommodation and subsistence costs including the fee for the conference participation.

Objectives of the Conference
The conference will provide a special forum for eligible researchers to build contacts with their peers from across Europe and leading researchers. Young scientists are expected to play an active role at the conference. The Third Green Week Scientific Conference will concentrate on the processes of integration and disintegration in the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) on different scales and focusing on the overall rural sector with a crosscutting perspective. Drivers and barriers of change, impacts and patterns of transition will be discussed. The conferences are closely linked to the summer schools and training courses which will enable junior researchers to gain access to state-of-the-art knowledge and methods, employing a variety of proven and innovative work forms.
Organised within the EU sponsored MACE Project, the Green Week Scientific Conferences will be held annually until 2010. It is intended to continue the event beyond this date by securing additional finances and sponsors. The series of events offers unique training opportunities for junior researchers who want to join an international network.

Topics
The conference “Multi-Level Processes of Integration and Disintegration” will particularly address:

  • Changes in landscape ecologies, cross-border biodiversity conservation efforts
  • EU-enlargement and integration of CEE into international markets
  • Multifunctionality of agriculture

  • Rural development, poverty, migration and cultural diversity

Conference Structure
The conference will combine selected topical lectures from senior scientists with workshops where junior researcher can present and discuss their current work and receive feedback from their peers and the discussants. Proceedings will be published electronically as well as in book form.
